As stated in Our Objectives, it is our goal to promote uniform application of the plumbing code and closer cooperation among inspectors, building departments, health departments, plumbing and mechanical contractors. Through our Code Corner pages we hope to keep you up to date with what is happing across the state. On the Updates
Page I will list any state issued information that I am aware of, that concerns
our industry. I will also periodically list some of the changes between the 2005
Ohio Plumbing Code and the 2007 Ohio Plumbing Code. The Drawings
Page is where you will find plumbing pictures and isometric drawings submitted
by members for clarification, education or just a good laugh. The Code
Committee Page is for you. OAPI Code Advisory Committee - This committee has
been formed in order to provide a more unified understanding of the Ohio
Plumbing Code. The committee will give its opinion of various code questions
submitted by people from across the state. We do stress that this is not meant
to be a binding code interpretation, we are only giving our professional
opinion. The committee consist of 15 members that have been appointed by the
Board. These members include 4 mechanical contractors, 3 plumbing engineers, 1
architect, 1 building official, 3 plumbing inspectors under BBS and 3 plumbing
inspectors under DOC. We all have questions when it comes to backflow. Ohio Department of Commerce has released a backflow manual. Check it out on our Backflow Page. To view the 2007 Ohio Plumbing Code compliments of ICC click here
